April 2016

April started off with a fun event.  We were able to attend the mission reunion on the Friday before conference.  It was held at the UVU Institute Building.  Seth came down from Logan and came with us.

It was wonderful to see so many of our dear mission friends along with President and Sister Rasmussen.

We enjoyed being together to watch April Conference.  Alan and Seth worked in Grandma's yard in between Saturday sessions.

We got some of the old bushes out of the planters and then we planted some flowers in their place.

On Sunday, we drove up to American Fork to have a meal with the family at Tyler's house between sessions.

We loved this photo of the new Primary Presidency

Reminded me of my friends in Japan!

We enjoyed being able to be in Utah to see the spring blossoms.

We also drove up to Idaho Falls to visit Nolan & Keree.  Dad was able to help with a few projects around their house.

Little E has a cute Minions jacket.  Another memorable event was that Miss H. let me pull out her baby tooth for her.  How did I forget to get a photo of that?!

Our next stop was Cache Valley!

We visited Seth and Aunt Vonda and we were so happy to hear that she found her rings that she had lost in December.  Scott and Jackie were there too.

And, of course, you have to get some Pepperidge Farm Cookies and Aggie Ice Cream!

It was a beautiful day!

Grandma was anxious for us to get back.  She had stayed at Scotts while we were in Idaho.  Craig had a hip replacement.  We visited him and then took Grandma back to Spanish Fork.  She has hurt her back, so she's been a bit uncomfortable too.

One day we decided to visit the new Provo City Center Temple.  After the session, this sister came up to me and asked if I was Sister Anderson (!)  Then I realized that it was Sister Carter.  We had never actually met in person before, but we have visited over skype several times.  The Carters served in Kazakhstan after us.  We returned to the US in November 2013.  They arrived in Almaty about that same time and were given the opportunity to finish distributing the wheelchairs we had begun in September.  It was such an unexpected surprise to be able to meet them in person!  And to catch up on the news about the work in Kazakhstan.  How in the world?

We were back in Arizona for the wedding of Karine's granddaughter Morgan at the Gilbert Temple.  It was a beautiful day.  This is two of my sisters and our sisters-in-law.  Love them!

And evening.  Then, we returned to Tucson to take care of some business.

Alan brought an old WWII gun that had been his father's for Sam.

Danno and I realized we were dressed the same!

Then, finally, the letter we've been waiting for arrived!  We have been called to the Korea Seoul Mission as office specialists.  We are to report to the MTC in Provo August 1st.

The temple is being constructed just down the street from our insurance agent's office.  It's going to be beautiful.

It's an amazing view of the city from up here.

Will's kids thought it was warm enough to go swimming, but I'd rather have a little more heat.  We had a beautiful spring this year.  Which is sadly pretty rare for us.  It usually gets hot too fast!

Our Karli is in the Vail Youth Symphony.  We enjoyed going to her concert.
